Parenthood is a big job and it’s not something that you’ll pick up in a few weeks, or even a few years. In fact, most parents look back at their first few months and years of parenthood and laugh at the things they thought were important.

Sometimes it’s something as simple as not knowing when they were going to need certain products. electrical outlet covers are great, but you don’t need them when baby comes home from the hospital. But that’s not to say that there’s not a time and a place for these types of safety devices.

Parents of toddlers will tell you that the child resistant outlet cover is an absolute necessity. Little people have a tendency to create big trouble and there’s no reason for them to get injured, or worse, in the process.

Many parents also laugh when they think about how they went completely overboard when childproofing their home. Installing a baby proof outlet or two is one thing, but many parents just don’t know when to quit. These folks sand down every sharp corner in their home in hopes of protecting their precious toddler. But all that extra stuff isn’t really necessary if you’re keeping a close on the baby at all times anyways.
